The lecture, “Reasons and Objectives of a National Program to Confront Cultural Colonization,” was crucial for understanding that the world is facing an ancient phenomenon, closely linked to fascism.

  During his presentation, the intellectual emphasized the appropriation of external cultural patterns, associated with customs, images, and symbols, while highlighting the role of social media in this.

  Cuba should make the battle against cultural colonization a matter of instinct, opined the Cuban writer, who is also the coordinator of the training program against this scourge called “Sowing Ideas, Sowing Conscience.”

  Another topic he addressed is related to history and the need to preserve it: “Today, the battle for history is vital for Cuba and for countries that intend to shape their own destiny,” the intellectual told Prensa Latina.

  It was a moment to reflect on the machinery that seeks to cripple the intellectual capacity of human beings, our culture and values, and to become aware of the subversive attempts that foment hatred among Cubans, creating anguish, division, and confusion.
