He also stressed the need to safeguard the results of the victory in World War II and highlighted the importance of maintaining the international system with the UN at its core and the basic norms of international law.
The Chinese head of state pointed out that both countries must work together to preserve global strategic stability.
Xi conveyed his best wishes to Putin and the Russian people for the Lunar New Year and noted that the beginning of spring symbolizes a new start for bilateral relations.
The president also emphasized that economic and trade exchanges have maintained a stable trend.
