According to the North Press website, a mine exploded under a motorcycle in the desert near the city of Gharanij, killing the driver, who had been displaced from Aleppo and was living in Deir Ezzor.
Another device exploded near a group of children playing in the city of Dhiban, injuring four children, three of whom belonged to the same family, according to Nahr Media.
In a third incident, a mine exploded in the desert near Al-Bishri, in the southern part of the same province, under a truck, causing significant material damage and killing several sheep that were in the vehicle.
The day before, three civilians were killed by a landmine explosion in the Yarubieh region of Syria’s northeastern Hasakah province.
The local news channel Khabour reported that the incident occurred amidst repeated landmine explosions in areas formerly controlled by the Kurdish Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), which have resulted in numerous civilian casualties.
The Syrian Ministry of Emergency Situations and Disaster Management had issued a warning to citizens to avoid entering or returning to areas formerly under SDF control due to the high risk posed by landmines, improvised explosive devices, and other unexploded ordnance.
