“One indicator could be that the warmongers in Europe and the United Kingdom are constantly trying to interfere in this process. And the more attempts of this kind occur, the more we see that there is certainly progress and positive development,” the official told the Russian press gathered in Abu Dhabi, the capital of the United Arab Emirates, the venue for the talks.
He also stated that “it is impossible to interfere” in the negotiations; however, he asserted that despite the difficulties, those from the so-called Old Continent are trying.
Despite this scenario, Dmitriev added that, as part of the process, they are also actively working with the administration of President Donald Trump to restore economic relations between Russia and the United States.
The second round of talks between Russia, Ukraine, and the United States is taking place in Abu Dhabi on February 4 and 5, an initiative that forms part of diplomatic efforts to advance a political settlement to the Ukrainian crisis.
The day before, Russian presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov stressed that “the doors to a peaceful solution are open,” emphasizing that Moscow’s position “is very clear and well understood by both the Kiev regime and the negotiators.”
