Delegations from both countries discussed during the 24th Plenary Session of the Joint Technical Group, on how to enhance the participation of university research centers, defense laboratories, and industries in bilateral collaboration on cooperative research and development initiatives.

A project agreement for cooperation between India’s Defense Research and Development Organization and the US Defense Innovation Unit was also signed at the meeting under the Innovation Bridge program, which aims to connect innovation ecosystems and support startups in their global expansion, each with specific objectives.

The Indian Defense Ministry stated that the plenary session was held in accordance with the guidelines of the framework for the India-US Strategic Defense Partnership, signed by Defense Minister Rajnath Singh and US Secretary of War Pete Hegseth in October 2025.
