Gil reaffirmed the brotherhood and solidarity and the commitment to continue working together for a multicentric and multipolar world, for the well-being of our peoples, social justice, and adherence to the principles that sustain peace for our nations.

The Islamic Republic was proclaimed on February 11, 1979, following popular protests that led to the overthrow of the monarchy of Mohammad Reza Pahlavi.
