Russia advances topics for discussion in upcoming negotiations

Moscow, Feb 16 (Prensa Latina) Russian presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov announced that the next round of trilateral negotiations for the peaceful resolution of the Ukrainian conflict will cover a wide range of topics, including territorial issues.

“This time, we intend to discuss a broader range of issues, including, in fact, the main ones concerning both territories and everything else. Which, in fact, are connected to the demands we have,” the Kremlin spokesman explained to the press.

He also noted that the new round of talks will take place on February 17 and 18 in Geneva, Switzerland, in a trilateral format (Russia, United States, Ukraine) without the participation of European representatives.

In this context, Peskov pointed out that the dialogues require the presence of the chief negotiator for the Russian side, presidential advisor Vladimir Medinsky.

Regarding this, he explained that Medinsky did not participate in the negotiations in Abu Dhabi, the capital of the United Arab Emirates, as the discussion there focused solely on security issues.

The head of the press service of the Presidency of Russia added that his country’s delegation will be expanded to include Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Galuzin and the top representative of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Russian General Staff, Igor Kostyukov.

From Washington, it was confirmed that their delegation will include White House envoy Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner, the son-in-law of US President Donald Trump.
