Italy: ANAIC calls for solidarity with Cuba in face of US aggression

Rome, Feb 17 (Prensa Latina) The Italy-Cuba Friendship Association (ANAIC) condemns the United States' measure against oil supplies to the Caribbean nation and calls for increased solidarity with the Cuban people and their Revolution in the face of this aggression, a release indicates on Tuesday.

The association expresses, in a statement, its commitment to relaunching the “Energy for Life” fundraising campaign, initiated at the end of 2025, which recently raised over 130,000 euros for several social projects in eastern Cuba.

ANAIC President Marco Papacci told Prensa Latina that the “Energy for Life” campaign includes, along with his organization, the Italian Association for Social Promotion (ARCI), the Italian General Confederation of Laborers (CGIL), and the National Association of Italian Partisans (ANPI).

Its leadership, on behalf of thousands of members of that organization grouped in hundreds of circles distributed throughout all Italian regions, expressed in the document its support for the “Our America Flotilla” project, which will bring aid to the island, as well as its intention to identify other forms of support for that nation.

ANAIC denounces the “extraordinary aggression conducted by the government of President Donald Trump and his acolyte Marco Rubio” to prevent the entry of oil, which Washington tries to justify with the false and absurd argument that this small country represents an unusual threat to the national security of the United States.
