At a meeting with Cuban Ambassador to this nation, Susellys Perez Mesa, Shamu ratified the rejection of all unilateral coercive measures, such as those also faced by Zimbabwe.

Perez Mesa updated the legislative leader on the recent executive order by the US President to try to impose a total siege on fuel supplies, with its genocidal effects on the Cuban people.

The Cuban diplomat warned of the risks and the precedent this action by Washington sets for any country, in blatant violation of international law and the rules of global trade.

The ambassador referred to the expressions of support Havana has received from governments and parliaments, solidarity organizations, and Cuban residents abroad, including those from the sister African region.

She highlighted the adoption, for the 17th time, of a resolution at the African Union (AU) Summit condemning the US blockade against Cuba and the unilateral and unjust inclusion of Cuba in Washington’s State Sponsors of Terrorism (SSOT) list.

Shamu and Perez Mesa exchanged, in the presence of Second Secretary Zailin Gaulhiac Moraguez, some ideas on initiatives to support and show solidarity with the island in addressing the current situation, with the conviction that the US government will not achieve its sinister objectives.
