Iran reaffirms its commitment to peace

Tehran, Feb 23 (Prensa Latina) Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian affirmed on Monday that his country is fully committed to regional peace and stability, although he warned that it has taken the necessary measures to address any possible scenario that may arise.

In a statement released on his X profile, Pezeshkian explained that the recent talks with Washington included an exchange of concrete proposals, revealing certain signs of progress.

The president underscored, “Iran is committed to peace and stability in the region.

We are closely monitoring the United States’ actions and have made all necessary preparations to address any potential scenario.”

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi previously revealed to CBS that the planned nuclear talks with a US delegation could take place on Thursday in Geneva, describing the meeting as a “good opportunity” to reach a diplomatic solution.

However, the situation remains tense, as the United States has increased its military presence in the region in the last few weeks, deploying additional warships amid ongoing talks with Tehran.

Washington continues to demand that Iran completely halt its uranium enrichment activities and remove the enriched uranium from its territory.

Additionally, the United States seeks to include Iran’s missile program and Tehran’s support for armed groups in the region on the negotiating table, although Iranian authorities have reiterated that they are unwilling to discuss these issues, focusing solely on their nuclear program.
