Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Mao Ning stated that this is the German head of Government’s first trip to this country since he took office.
During the visit, scheduled for February 25-26, Merz will hold talks with President Xi Jinping and Premier Li Qiang.
Mao Ning affirmed that both sides will exchange views on bilateral relations and issues of common concern.
The spokesperson noted that China and Germany are comprehensive strategic partners of mutual benefit.
Mao Ning underscored that high-level exchanges have remained frequent and practical cooperation has been steadily deepened.
