Following the signing, Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal emphasized the importance of the bilateral economic relations of that document, along with the FTA’s Terms of Reference (ToR), signed on February 5.
Goyal believes that ties will gain further momentum with a comprehensive and mutually beneficial agreement.
The Indian minister underscored that, amid global uncertainty, starting talks to negotiate a robust trade agreement that leverages mutual synergies and complementarities is extremely opportune.
GCC Secretary General Mohamed AlBudaiwi emphasized that the FTA will serve as an important tool to further strengthen trade and investment ties between India and the organization’s member countries.
