The Movement stated in a press release, “This irresponsible and provocative action violates international law, sovereignty, and the peace of a people who have resisted all kinds of hostilities for decades.”
The organization rejected any action that endangers the lives of civilians, seeks to generate instability, or intends to intimidate the Cuban nation.
It denounced, “No cause justifies violence against a sovereign country. These attacks are part of a policy of siege that has attempted, unsuccessfully, to yield in the will of the Cuban people.”
It asserted Cuba’s legitimate right to defend its territorial integrity and sovereignty, as the United Nations establishes.
“Self-defense cannot be described as aggression; it is an act of dignity and responsibility in the face of external provocations,” the organization added, urging the international community not to remain silent in the face of actions that threaten regional stability.
The document stated, “Peace in the Caribbean is built on mutual respect, not provocations. We reiterate our unwavering solidarity with the people and government of Cuba.
In the face of the aggression, more unity. In the face of provocation, more dignity. In the face of hatred, more solidarity. Cuba is not alone!”, they stressed.
