In a tweet, Sanchez wrote that the action taken by Washington and Tel Aviv “contributes to a more uncertain and hostile international order,” while also condemning the actions of the Iranian regime and the Revolutionary Guard.

“We cannot afford another prolonged and devastating war in the Middle East. We demand immediate de-escalation and full respect for international law. It is time to resume dialogue and reach a lasting political solution for the region,” the Spanish Prime Minister stated.

For his part, Foreign Minister Jose Manuel Albares tweeted that “violence only brings chaos,” and, like Sanchez, insisted that “de-escalation and dialogue are the path to peace and stability.”

Albares himself called on the 158 Spaniards in Iran to leave the country.
