The spokesperson for the humanitarian organization, Mojtaba Khaledi, told the national Mehr news agency that the bombings caused damage in multiple locations across Iran.
Khaledi assured that all Red Crescent personnel remain deployed on the ground to treat the wounded and assess the damage, and urged the population to stay away from the attacked areas to facilitate rescue efforts.
The offensive was dubbed “Operation Lion’s Roar” by Israel. US President Donald Trump announced that his country had launched “large-scale combat operations” against Iran.
Referring to the military action, Trump stated that Washington would seek to “destroy Iran’s missile program, its missile industry, and annihilate its navy.”
Simultaneously, Israel declared an “immediate and special state of emergency” throughout the country.
For their part, Iranian authorities launched what they described as a forceful response to the aggression, confirming the missile launches against Israel, in an escalation that increases tension and the risk of further expansion of the conflict in the region. jdt/rc/fm
