During the demonstrations in northern territories such as Kano, Kaduna, and Abuja, the federal capital, those convened by various organizations chanted slogans against the violators of the Persian nation’s sovereignty and lamented the assassination of Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, the source reported.
The protesters described the aforementioned crime and the assassinations of other high-ranking Iranian officials as acts of “global arrogance” and a direct attack on the Shiite faith worldwide.
The violent death of Khamenei, who had led the Persian state since 1989, caused shockwaves in various countries around the world.
Meanwhile, in the preceding hours, the Nigerian government issued a statement expressing its concern about the escalating tensions in the Gulf region and warning of the risk of further escalation of the armed conflict, “with potentially serious consequences for regional and global stability.”
To date, the US and Israeli aggression against Iranian territory has left more than 200 dead in that country, including children, and hundreds wounded, according to official sources.
Under the pretext of self-defense, Iranian military forces, among other actions, launched dozens of missiles against US military bases in the region and various targets in Israel.
