of the National Assembly (Parliament) begins the process for all Venezuelans interested in holding the positions of Attorney General and Ombudsman.

The nomination will extend until March 9, and the fundamental requirements will be published in three national newspapers and the Parliament’s social media accounts.

Giuseppe Alessandrello, coordinator of the Evaluation Committee, announced that the process will begin after the basic requirements are published, in accordance with the Internal Regulations of the Legislative Power and the Constitution.

Alessandrello explained that the process will consist of three phases: the publication of the requirements for applying for the positions, the preparation of lists of candidates who progress satisfactorily, the submission of documents, interviews, and finally, the presentation to the National Assembly for selection.

The legislator called on citizens interested in assuming the positions of Attorney General and Ombudsman to participate, after the top representatives of the Public Prosecutor’s Office, Tarek William Saab, and the Ombudsman’s Office, Alfredo Ruiz, submitted their resignation letters to Parliament on February 25.
