Organized by the Progressive International (PI), the convoy will transport food, medicine, and supplies to Havana, the Cuban capital, by air and sea.
JJCC President Catalina Lufin stated that the initiative aims to raise awareness about the effects of the economic, commercial, and financial embargo, to which the oil blockade joined, as well as to contribute with material aid.
Lufin explained that, just as young people did during the Vietnam War, the call today is to carry out concrete acts of solidarity.
She noted, “We want greater awareness in our country about the brutality of war and the devastation these policies inflict on the most vulnerable populations.”
The Chilean delegation, including graduates of the Latin American School of Medicine (ELAM), will depart for the Caribbean nation on March 19.
