China and Vietnam talk about diplomacy, security, and defense

Beijing, Mar 13 (Prensa Latina) China announced on Friday that Foreign Minister Wang Yi, along with Public Security Minister Wang Xiaohong and Defense Minister Dong Jun, will travel to Vietnam from March 15 to 17 to attend the first "3+3" strategic dialogue.

Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Guo Jiakun noted that this will be the first ministerial meeting under this format of bilateral strategic dialogue.

The “3+3” mechanism integrates the foreign relations, defense, and public security sectors of both nations.

Wang Yi will co-chair, during his visit, the 17th meeting of the Steering Committee for Bilateral Cooperation with Vietnamese authorities.

The two nations maintain a comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership, with trade relations representing Beijing’s largest exchange with a Southeast Asian country.

Since the formal diplomatic relations were established in 1950, China and Vietnam have developed a friendship based on socialist values and mutual respect.
