Organizations in Brasilia supporting the Caribbean nation have called for a day of events to commemorate the legacy of the man they consider the central figure of the process that triumphed on January 1, 1959, and a leading figure for progressive forces in Latin America and the world.
This initiative, which includes debates and cultural events, is part of an international calendar of tributes for Fidel Castro’s 100th birthday, which will be exactly on August 13.

Batista told Prensa Latina that more than 20 organizations will participate in the celebration, which aims to highlight the internationalist dimension of the Cuban Revolution and its impact on areas such as health, education, culture, and sports.
