In a television conference, the president highlighted the solidarity offered by several friendly countries and international organizations, and highlighted the contribution of Mexico, for which he thanked the people of that country and the firmness of its president, Claudia Sheinbaum, in the offer of this generous contribution.
He pointed out that these solidarity contributions are distributed under the irreducible ethics of the Revolution, are mainly directed at schools, communities and social services, and are managed without profit, with a strong system of audits and monitoring.
In this process – he pointed out – participate representatives of agencies, embassies, who verify the correct use of resources on the ground, which reinforces the credibility of the process before any accusation of mismanagement.
He pointed out that the country has organized a system and accumulates great experience and ethics in how to manage donations, and recalled that this Caribbean nation has historically been a recipient of these contributions, through different channels, in the face of natural disasters, and that for its delivery the purpose of the donor is taken into account, if he had it, and if not propose to the taxpayer the destination of contributions.
He pointed out that the products and goods delivered to the public are never charged, their destinations are announced transparently, and there is a system of audits to ensure full transparency in distribution, so there are no diversion of these aids.
In the meeting with the national press, the president answered questions on different topics of the national reality and relations with the outside world, including details about ongoing talks with the United States to resolve disagreements on various issues, in the interest of bilateral relations and both peoples, on the basis of respect for sovereignty, independence and self-determination.
He also referred to the complex situation created by the energy blockade imposed by the current US administration on Cuba with the purpose of economically suffocating the country and overthrowing the Revolution.
