Launched jointly with the National Council of Performing Arts (CNAE) and the Tablas Alarcos publishing house, the call is open to researchers, critics, and scholars of the subject up to 35 years of age and residing in Cuba, regardless of their affiliation with the AHS.

According to the guidelines, participants must not have previously received this prize and may submit an original academic work, no longer than 100 pages.

The content must address one of the facets of Cuban performing arts, including theater, dance, circus arts, humor, storytelling, variety shows, or other related areas.

Those interested should send the document in Word format to becasypremiosahs@gmail.com and can be submitted before October 31, along with the participant’s application form, available on the organization’s website (www.ahs.cu).

The subject line of the email should read “Premio La Selva Oscura,” and all the information requested on the form should be completed.

The results will be announced in December 2026 at a public event in the Pabellon Cuba Cultural Center in this capital.

The prize consists of a certificate and 10,000 Cuban pesos, as well as the assessment of the work by the Tablas Alarcos Editorial Board for possible publication.
