“Thank you, Mr. President. The Cuban people, who admire you, feel supported by their Mexican brothers and sisters who have confirmed their dignity and justice in the face of the crimes the US is committing against Cuba. Thank you to you and many people around the world. #CubaIsNotAlone,” the diplomat stated last night on X.
On the same social media platform, Lopez Obrador invited Mexicans to contribute to an account opened by citizens, writers, and journalists to purchase food, medicine, oil, and gasoline for the people of the Caribbean nation.
“I am retired, but it pains me that they seek to exterminate the brotherly people of Cuba for their ideals of freedom and defense of sovereignty,” he affirmed.
The former president reminded “those who think this is someone else’s problem” of what “General Lazaro Cardenas said during the Bay of Pigs invasion: ‘It is not right to advocate indifference to their heroic struggle, because their fate is our own.’
