El-Sisi affirmed during an Iftar, the evening meal with which Muslims break their daily fast during their holy month of Ramadan, the necessity to reduce regional tensions, begin dialogue, and adhere to international law.
The president warned that the region is at a historic crossroads and believes it faces serious challenges with direct implications for Egypt’s internal situation.
The head of State asserted that the ongoing conflict has far-reaching economic, humanitarian, and security repercussions that “no one can avoid and that will affect everyone without exception.”
He ratified Cairo’s efforts to reduce tensions in other Arab countries experiencing internal armed conflicts in the country’s eastern, western, and southern regions, alluding to Libya, Palestine, Lebanon, and Sudan.
He noted, “We urge a reduction in tension, prioritizing dialogue and reason, as well as the need to adhere to the rules of international law.”
El-Sisi renewed on March 9 his call to end the war, warning that it threatens the global institutional order.
