The delegates belong to a dozen organizations and institutions, including the Colombian Movement of Solidarity with Cuba (MCSC), the House of Friendship with the Peoples of Cali, the Colombian Federation of Education Workers, the People’s Congress, Friends of Cuba, Sovereign Latin America, and educational centers such as the National Pedagogical University and the University of Valle.

Sara Palmesano, a member of the MCSC, told Prensa Latina that a ton of aid, including medicines, school supplies, non-perishable food, medical supplies, and feminine hygiene products, was collected in Colombia.

Palmesano explained that once in Havana, the products will be symbolically delivered to the Cuban Institute of Friendship with the Peoples (ICAP).

The activist emphasized that this is the first step in providing support, which will be followed by another shipment of solar panels soon to arrive in Cuba.

That donation consists of five tons of medical equipment and supplies, medicines for the Cuban healthcare system, and renewable energy equipment.
