“We ratify the will to develop relations between our countries”, literally stressed the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Caribbean nation through a message on social network X.
Cuba and Turkmenistan established diplomatic relations on 23 March 1992, following the declaration of independence of the Central Asian country after the dissolution of the Soviet Union, which was one of its 15 member republics.
Since then, relations between Turkmenistan and Cuba are of friendship and cooperation, focused on mutual support in international forums and strengthening political and economic ties.
They are fraternal and solid relations, based on solidarity, with a clear will to deepen collaboration, especially in the multilateral and economic sphere, despite geographical distance, and always with the background of mutual support in international forums.
Last December, the president of Turkmenistan, Serdar Bersimujamedov, sent congratulatory messages to his Cuban counterpart, Miguel Diaz-Canel, on the occasion of the national holiday and for the new year. In the letters he took the opportunity to wish peace, progress and prosperity to the people of Cuba.
