DPRK announces first session of 15th Parliament

Pyongyang, Mar 18 (Prensa Latina) The 15th Supreme People's Assembly (SPA) of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) will hold its first session on March 22, the government announced on Wednesday. KCNA stated that the legislative body will discuss several issues, including the election of the DPRK Chairman of State Affairs, the elections for the State leadership body and SPA committees, as well as amendments and supplements to the DPRK Socialist Constitution.

It will also address the implementation of the Five-Year Plan for the development of the national economy presented by the 9th Congress of the Workers’ Party of Korea, the progress report on the 2025 state budget, and the 2026 budget.

The Central Election Commission (CEC) states that 687 workers, farmers, intellectuals, military personnel, and officials were elected on March 15 as lawmakers to the People’s Assembly, by virtue of the DPRK’s electoral law for legislators to the people’s assemblies at all levels.
