The KCNA also informed that deputies Kim Hyong-sik and Ri Son-gwon were appointed as vice-chairmen during the first session of the 15th Legislative Assembly, held at the Congress Palace in Pyongyang, with the participation of the country’s leader, Kim Jong-un.
Jo swore to faithfully support Kim’s administration, uphold the Constitution of the Republic of Korea, and dedicate himself fully to implementing the party’s policy of prioritizing the people and achieving the prosperity and development of the State.
The news agency reported that the primary item on the agenda of this session of the 15th Legislative Assembly was Kim’s ratification as the President of the State Affairs Commission (SAC) of the DPRK.
The session elected the deputies recommended by the leader as first vice-chairman, vice-chairman, and members of the SAC of the DPRK.
Also elected were the president, vice presidents, secretary, members of the Presidium of the SPA, and the country’s prime minister, a position conferred upon Deputy Pak Thae-song, who proposed the cabinet members who were appointed with unanimous approval.
The president of the Supreme Prosecutor’s Office and the president of the Supreme Court were also appointed.
