President Abdel-Fattah el-Sisi spoke by telephone with King Abdullah II of Jordan about the issue in the last few hours, an official statement stressed.
The Egyptian presidency informed that the two leaders addressed the current situation in the region and underscored the need to reduce tensions and restore stability.
El-Sisi visited Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Bahrain, and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) last week, where he met with the authorities of those countries, as part of his diplomatic offensive.
Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty also contacted, in parallel, several of his counterparts via telephone to discuss the issue and ways to de-escalate tensions.
The text stated that the talks focused on the rapid regional escalation and efforts to reduce tensions, given concerns about their impact on regional security and stability.
