CubaCoop, an association that has been promoting decentralized cooperation for almost 30 years, received support from the French Popular Relief (SPF) and the local Lions Club to prepare the shipment, which is scheduled to arrive in the island nation in early May.

The solidarity container primarily contains post-operative supplies, given the impact of the US blockade on the healthcare sector, one of the hardest hit by the escalating hostility of the administration of President Donald Trump.

Washington has tightened, in the last few months, its efforts to stifle Cuba with an oil siege, preventing the entry of hydrocarbons.

In addition to this container with cargo valued at 150,000 euros, CubaCoop is boosting a project to deliver dozens of tons of powdered milk to children and the most vulnerable populations on the island, with several shipments already completed.

Cuba’s Ambassador to France, Otto Vaillant, expressed his gratitude for the new initiative and all the individuals and organizations involved in making it a reality.
