Two leading dance figures, Lizt Alfonso and Norma Garcia, director of the Santiago Classical Ballet, have joined forces for the first time in the Dominican Republic to teach a course for children and young people from March 23 to 28.
The city of Santiago de los Caballeros will be the epicenter of the Dominican Dance Intensive 2026, an event designed to enhance the artistic skills of both amateurs and professionals, starting at age six, and divided into Beginner, Intermediate, and Advanced levels.
Participants will receive, at the Santiago Classical Ballet headquarters, classes in Ballet, Fusion Dance, Flamenco Fusion, Latin Fusion, and Urban Dance, taught by renowned directors and two guest dancer-teachers from LADC: Yaslubia Diaz and Miguel Angel Calas.
To put their newly acquired skills into practice, the instructors of the Dominican Dance Intensive 2026 will organize a closing gala, featuring performances by the two young professional artists from Cuba and each of the students.
LADC states in a release that the performance will allow everyone to celebrate dance together as a means of sharing knowledge, emotions, affection, peace, harmony, health, and enjoyment.
