In a statement strongly and categorically condemning Washington’s economic, commercial, and financial blockade against the Cuban people, the group denounced the US administration for tightening its siege by inciting violence within Cuba in an attempt to destroy the Caribbean nation.
It recalled that the Cuban nation, which it described as a brother, has lived for more than six decades under the effect of the brutal siege imposed by the United States, and, despite this relentless economic pressure, Cuba has managed to build a society with world-class scientific advancements.
It emphasized, “As a fundamental principle, the Cuban Revolution has always known how to share its achievements with the brother countries of the world.”
The Sri Lankan association noted that in a new round of aggression, Washington completely blocked the entry of oil to the island in late January of this year.
It considered this act by the US administration a flagrant violation of sovereignty and a criminal and inhumane act aimed at stifling the Cuban people.
