UN agency warns of humanitarian crisis in Gaza

Ramallah, Mar 20 (Prensa Latina) The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA) warned on Friday of the grave humanitarian situation faced by more than two million inhabitants of the Gaza Strip.

Gaza has no place to hide, the UNRWA stated on its X profile, referring to the Israeli attacks and blockade, compounded by the harsh weather conditions.

The UN agency underscored that the strong winds, torrential rain, dust, and heat make daily life unbearable in the fragile makeshift shelters.

The institution noted that “for displaced people already facing extreme living conditions, the weather further exacerbates their hardships. The struggle for survival continues day after day.”

Authorities in the coastal enclave consistently accuse Israel of exacerbating the humanitarian crisis through its ongoing attacks and siege, which prevents the entry of essential supplies such as food.

Ismail al-Thawabta, Director General of the Government Media Office in the enclave, criticized Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu this week for failing to fulfill the commitments made.
