In Nairobi, the capital of Kenya, 20% of retail fuel vendors have no supplies.
Meanwhile, the Kenya Petroleum Outlets Association, which represents 68% of retailers, reported that they have only very limited supplies, and its president, Martin Chomba, said that the crisis could become total within the next two weeks.
Observers noted that Kenya obtains all of its Middle Eastern fuel supplies from Gulf producers and refineries.
Meanwhile, gas stations in Kinshasa are also experiencing long lines of vehicles this week due to fears of shortages and price increases, as the capital of the Democratic Republic of the Congo has also begun to feel the effects of Iran’s blockade of the Strait of Hormuz.
