Custodian of an archive that treasures the work of figures such as Rita Montaner, Celina Gonzalez, Silvio Rodriguez, Irakere, and the orchestras Aragon, Van Van, and NG la Banda, the Cuban record label has been dedicated to rescuing and safeguarding historical recordings since March 31, 1964.
In addition to established artists and groups, new generations of Cuban musicians are also contributing their innovative and contemporary offerings, Egrem noted on social media.
The National Council for Cultural Heritage recognized on March 27, 2019, the high degree of preservation of these recordings, some of which are over seven decades old, the company added.
In its statement, it extended its congratulations to the artists, technicians, producers, and executives whose work makes it possible to preserve and disseminate Cuban music.
