In the Havana ceremony, the work of those who boost performing arts was recognized, the Publishing House reported on social media.
The Virgilio Pinera Award for Playwriting was given to Ulises Cala for his play “Unfinished Piece for Pink Pistol,” while the Dora Alonso Award in the same category went to Nelson Beaton for “Borderline.”
In the Research category, the Rine Leal Award was given to Vladimir Peraza for his work “Bioethics of Art: A Conceptual Proposal for Critical Analysis.”
Denny Brian Santana also won the Criticism and Graphic Arts Contest with “Luces y sombras de Bola de Nieve” (Snowball Lights and Shadows), the publication added.
The jury also awarded a Special Mention in the Dora Alonso category to Maikel Chavez for his piece “Planeta Cachivache” (Trinket Planet).
In the coming days, Tablas-Alarcos Publishing House will publish excerpts from the winners’ professional biographies, along with new photos from the event.
