Iran accuses IAEA chief of encouraging attacks on its Nuclear Program

Tehran, March 27 (Prensa Latina) Iran accused the Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), Rafael Mariano Grossi, of failing to condemn attacks against its nuclear facilities and of issuing statements that favor the elimination of its nuclear program. Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Kazem Gharibabadi expressed his discontent with the international official's stance, considering that he has not contributed constructive positions and, on the contrary, has helped to aggravate the situation.

According to the diplomat, Grossi has still not condemned the attacks against Iranian nuclear facilities, including the recent incidents at the Bushehr facility.

Gharibabadi also criticized statements made by the IAEA chief to international media outlets, in which he addressed Iran’s nuclear capabilities, and questioned his role as a representative of a technical agency.

The IAEA also accused Iran of offering “guidance” that could be interpreted as endorsement of actions against nuclear activities that Iran considers legitimate.

The IAEA previously reported that Iran notified Iran of a new missile attack against the Bushehr plant, following an incident reported on March 17 that resulted in no casualties or material damage.
