According to a statement released by the authority, the restriction affects all aircraft arriving in, departing from, or transiting through Iraqi territory and will be in effect from noon local time until noon next Tuesday.
The authority explained that the decision is based on an ongoing assessment of the risks arising from events in the region and emphasized that it will be reviewed according to how the situation evolves.
It also pointed out that airlines and relevant authorities will be notified promptly of any changes to the measure.
The closure of Iraqi airspace has been in place since February 28, following the outbreak of military tensions in the region triggered by US and Israeli airstrikes against Iran, which has forced authorities to extend the measure on several occasions.
