“The Bolivian Movement of Solidarity with Cuba calls on all friends of Cuba to join the Solar Panels for Cuba campaign,” which will run until July 24, according to the statement read to dozens of activists in Plaza 14 de Septiembre, the main square of Cochabamba.
The appeal emphasizes the urgent need for solidarity with the Cuban people in the face of reprisals ordered by US President Donald Trump, amid threats of direct aggression.
In calling for support for the campaign and emphasizing that Cubans are not alone, the Bolivian Movement of Solidarity with Cuba announced that donations should be made to account number 10000067884540 at Banco Unión, or by scanning a QR code included in a distributed document.
The call was endorsed by the Movement of Solidarity with Cuba-Cochabamba Chapter, the Women’s Front for Sovereignty and Peace, the Communist Party of Bolivia Cochabamba Regional Branch, the Socialist Brigade, the Antifascist International, and the Intifada Group.
Also joining the effort were the Urban Teachers’ Union-Communist Party Bloc, the Association of Doctors Graduated from the Latin American School of Medicine, and the Movement of Solidarity with Palestine.
Meanwhile, the coca growers of the Coordinating Committee of the Six Federations of the Tropics of Cochabamba decided to send financial aid to Cuba in yuan, not dollars.
