During a demonstration in the southern province of Markazi, Nikzad declared that Tehran maintains a firm stance against Washington following the recent attacks attributed to the United States and Israel, according to the semi-official Fars news agency.
“The Strait of Hormuz will never be opened; there have been no negotiations, nor will there be,” the leader emphasized, referring to recent statements by US President Donald Trump.
Nikzad also rejected reports disseminated by US authorities regarding alleged contacts with the Speaker of the Iranian Parliament, Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, calling them “false” and aimed at creating internal divisions.
The leader maintained that strategic decisions regarding war, peace, or negotiations rest with the Supreme Leader, Mukhta Khamenei, who has not authorized any dialogue with Washington. In his statements, he also denounced the assassination of Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei as “the most dangerous conspiracy against Iran” and asserted that his country would respond to this act.
Since the end of February, Iran has faced a military escalation with the United States and Israel that has left thousands of victims, while Tehran has responded with missile and drone attacks against Israel and targets it considers linked to US interests in the region.
The closure of the Strait of Hormuz, one of the main routes for global energy trade, has increased international concern about the impact on markets and regional security.
