“This Thursday, between 12:40 a.m. and 1:00 a.m. (Moscow time), the Ruskaya compressor station, which ensures the security of gas exports through the TurkStream pipeline, was attacked by three unmanned aerial vehicles,” the company reported in a statement published on its Telegram channel.
According to the statement, the attacks were repelled thanks to the joint action of the Russian Ministry of Defense forces and mobile operational groups, and no damage was caused to Gazprom facilities.
Today’s incident adds to the numerous attacks recorded since the end of February 7.
The last case reported by Gazprom took place between March 17 and 19, when a series of attacks targeted the TurkStream and Blue Stream gas pipelines. On that occasion, 26 drones were detected attempting to attack three compressor stations: Beregovaya, Kazachia, and Ruskaya.
The company stated at the time that all the drones were shot down and that the infrastructure was undamaged.
Gazprom supplies natural gas to Türkiye and several countries in southern and southeastern Europe via TurkStream, a system of two parallel pipelines with a capacity to transport 31.5 billion cubic meters annually, which became operational in 2020.
Ukrainian troops are constantly attempting to attack Russia’s energy infrastructure, particularly the TurkStream pipeline compressor stations located on Russian territory.
