In a message posted on the X platform, the president questioned the meaning of attacking hospitals, pharmaceutical companies, and medical research centers, and described the incident as a “crime against humanity.”
“As a doctor, I call on the World Health Organization, the Red Cross, Doctors Without Borders, and all doctors worldwide to take action against this clear crime against humanity,” he stated.
Iranian authorities reported that the Pasteur Institute, one of the country’s most important public health and research centers, was the target of an attack attributed to the United States and Israel.
Similarly, Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmail Baghaei condemned the attack, calling it “tragic, brutal, despicable, and shameful.”
Baghai emphasized that the institute, founded in 1920 in cooperation with the Pasteur Institute in Paris, is one of the oldest and most prestigious scientific centers in the region, and denounced the attack as a violation of humanitarian principles.
“This is not just a common war crime in the midst of an illegitimate war, but a brutal attack against fundamental human values,”
