The artistic gala will feature the Calmecac Xochiquetzal Dance Company, the National School of Art Symphony Orchestra, and Mariachi Habana, who will offer the public a representative sample of dances, compositions, artistic expressions, and cultural heritage.
During the performance, ten classic works by the Mexican composer will be performed, in a program aimed at admirers of his musical output.
Flutist Gisellet Maria Blanco, responsible for the artistic direction of the show, is part of the artistic roster of this initiative, whose production has been made possible thanks to the collaboration of various creators and their shared interest in highlighting the legacy of a fundamental figure in the musical history of Mexico.
Thanks to the Cuban artists, we have a highly polished production that will present the highlights of the Tabasco Anthology, according to an interview with José Manuel Urrutia, the honoree’s great-grandson.
The repertoire includes, among other pieces, La Tulupana, Chicharrita de Mayo, Juramento de amor, and Rosas de abril, according to statements made by the producer in the press.
The gala is sponsored by the Cuban Embassy in Mexico, the National Council of Art Schools, the Government of Havana, the National Autonomous University of Mexico, as well as the National Councils of Performing Arts and Houses of Culture.
