Immediately after the results of the vote were announced, Thanh Man was sworn in, pledging absolute loyalty to the Fatherland, the people, and the Constitution of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, and promising to strive to fulfill the duties entrusted to him by the Party, the State, and the people.
In his inaugural address, as reported on the Legislature’s website, Tran Thanh Man thanked the voters of Ho Chi Minh City for the trust on electing him as a lawmaker, as well as the representatives of the National Assembly for the confidence they placed in him by ratifying his appointment.
He underscored, “This represents a great honor and a great responsibility before the Party, the State, the voters, and the people of the entire country.”
A PhD on Economics and a graduate in Political Science, Tran Thanh Man was born in 1962 in Thanh Xuan commune, in the city of Can Tho.
He has been a member of parliament since the 13th legislature and was elected speaker of the National Assembly on May 20, 2024, during the 7th period of session.
