Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan arrived on the same plane as Zelensky, and the Syrian president plans to hold a trilateral meeting with him in the Syrian capital.

According to local press reports, the meeting will address issues related to reconstruction, the development of internal agreements in Syria, and security challenges in the context of the regional escalation.

Sources cited by international media pointed out that the talks will include defense issues, amid rising tensions in the region.

The visit follows Zelensky’s recent stay in Turkiye, where he met with President Recep Tayyip Erdogan to discuss bilateral relations, the Russian-Ukrainian conflict, and the international situation.

It was also reported that the Turkish Foreign Minister held prior contacts with Syrian authorities to coordinate aspects related to the visit and cooperation between the two nations.

The Ukrainian president began his regional tour on March 28, which included visits to several Middle Eastern countries, in a context marked by the pursuit of strategic alliances and the strengthening of cooperation in security, energy, and military development.
