Today would have been the 96th birthday of our beloved Vilma, eternal president of the Federation of Cuban Women, the organization that revolutionized the inherited patriarchal society to its very foundations by placing women at the forefront of the vanguard,” he expressed on the social network X. He also reaffirmed that her figure is an indisputable symbol of Cuban women, and highlighted the authentic leadership, intelligence, and tenderness she demonstrated in the underground resistance, the guerrilla movement, and later in education.

For his part, Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez commemorated the date and spoke of her dedication to the Revolution and to the work of the organization that represents women.

“Her exemplary work in support of women’s rights continues to be an inspiration for current generations,” he concluded.

Cuba recuerda a Vilma Espín en aniversario de su natalicio

La Habana, 7 abr (Prensa Latina) El presidente de Cuba, Miguel Díaz-Canel, evocó hoy la figura de la heroína cubana Vilma Espín, en el aniversario 96 de su natalicio.

“Día de entrañable memoria. Hoy cumpliría 96 años la querida Vilma, eterna presidenta de la Federación de Mujeres Cubanas, la organización que revolucionó hasta sus cimientos a la sociedad patriarcal heredada, al poner a la mujer en la vanguardia de la vanguardia”, expresó en la red social X.

Asimismo, reafirmó que su figura es un símbolo indiscutible de la mujer cubana; y señaló el auténtico liderazgo, inteligencia y ternura demostrados en la clandestinidad, la guerrilla y luego en la educación.

Por su parte el ministro de Relaciones Exteriores de Cuba, Bruno Rodríguez, recordó la fecha y se refirió a su entrega a la Revolución y al quehacer de la organización que representa a las féminas.

“Su ejemplar obra a favor de los derechos de la mujer continua siendo inspiración para las actuales generaciones”, concluyó.
