The semi-official Mehr news agency reported that the attack occurred in the Pardis district, where rescue teams recovered the victims’ bodies from the rubble of a building.
The bombing also caused significant material damage to several buildings in the area.
So far, Iranian authorities have not released an official death toll. However, the US-based Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA) estimates that the total number of deaths since the beginning of the current escalation has reached 3,540.
For its part, the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies recently reported at least 1,900 civilian killed and some 20,000 injured.
The attack comes amid escalating tensions between Israel and the United States against Iran since late February, which have led to increased military operations in the region.
In response, Tehran has launched missiles and drones at Israel and targets it considers linked to US interests in several countries.
