Iran bids farewell to intelligence chief killed in previous attack

Tehran, Apr 9 (Prensa Latina) Thousands of people participated today in a funeral procession in the Iranian capital to honor Majid Khademi, commander of the Revolutionary Guard's intelligence service, who died in recent attacks attributed to the United States and Israel.

The ceremony took place in Revolution Square, where attendees carried Iranian and Hezbollah flags and chanted slogans against Washington and Tel Aviv, as well as expressions of support for the regional resistance.

According to Israeli media reports, including The Jerusalem Post, Israeli Defense Minister Yisrael Katz confirmed that the Israeli Air Force carried out the operation in which Khademi, identified as the head of the Iranian military’s intelligence service, was killed.

The United States and Iran announced a temporary two-week ceasefire yesterday in an attempt to pave the way for a definitive agreement to end the conflict that began on February 28, which has resulted in thousands of deaths and injuries.

The announcement came shortly before the deadline set by US President Donald Trump, who had urged Iran to reopen the Strait of Hormuz and accept a deal, under threat of escalating military action.
