Israeli attacks on Lebanon claim the lives of several children

Beirut, April 11 (Prensa Latina) The United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) reported that at least 33 children were killed and another 153 injured in Lebanon as a result of Israeli attacks on Wednesday, Lebanese media reported.

In a statement, the agency warned that more than 600 children have been killed or injured since the start of the offensive on March 2, and reiterated its call for respect for international humanitarian law and the protection of children.

UNICEF also noted that more than one million people have been displaced in the country, including approximately 390,000 children, many of whom have had to flee their homes repeatedly.

The international agency warned of the deteriorating humanitarian situation amid the continued bombing, considered among the most intense since the beginning of the aggression. Despite the announcement of a two-week ceasefire between the United States and Iran, brokered by Pakistan, Washington and Tel Aviv denied that it included Lebanon, while Israeli military operations continued in the country.

According to a preliminary tally from the Lebanese Ministry of Health, Wednesday’s attacks left at least 303 dead and 1,150 wounded, while rescue efforts continued.

Since the start of the Israeli offensive on March 2, the death toll has risen to 1,888, with 6,092 wounded, according to official sources.
