The event that is organized by the Cuban Book Institute (ICL), traditionally takes place in the old section of Habana, on the relic Calle de Madera, on one side of Plaza de Armas (wooden Street).
According to the organizers, this novel, inspired by some of the actions orchestrated by the United States against Cuba, blends fiction with disturbing reality.
It was based on a real plan from the early 1960s, Operation Northwoods, through which politicians, mobsters, professional assassins, officers, and agents of the Central Intelligence Agency sought, at any cost, to justify a military intervention in Cuba.
“With a gripping pace and impeccable research, it’s a thriller as daring as it is realistic,” states the book’s press release.
